We have developed state-of-the art infrastructure facility that helps in qualitative production of our innovative solutions as per the industry standards. We are equipped with Tensile testing Machines, Kalvin Bridges etc. All the measuring equipment are calibrated at regular intervals through independent testing laboratories/certification agency.

Conductor

The conductors shall be composed of plain electrolytic grade aluminium & copper wires complying with IS 8130-1984. Normally aluminium conductors up to size 10 Sq. mm. are solid, circular in cross section, and sizes obove 10 Sq. mm. are stranded. Conductors of cross section 16 Sq. mm. and above are normally sector shaped.Mining Cables to be used in gassy mines shall be of copper conductor only.
Wire Drawing : Wires to be drawn of required size on wire drawing machine.
Annealing : Intermediately drawn copper wires are further simultaneously on Tandum machine.
Stranding : Required conductor size to be manufactured with specified design on Stranding machine.

Insulation

High quality PVC compound Insulation applied on conductor by extrusion. General purpose Insulation, with max operating temp. 70°C & with Heat Resisting insulation are also available for maximum operating temp. of 85°C for 1.1 Ky grade cables. It shall be conforming to IS 583 1-1984.
Insulation : Conductor to be insulated with PVC/XLPE/HDPE as per required specification.

Laying Up

Laying Up : All rewound & cores to be arranged together to form a Cable with specified design on Drum Twister Machine / Laying Up Machine.

Innersheathing

The laid up cores applied covering by extrusion or by wrapping with Thermoplastic material, un-vulcanised rubber or proffed tapes. Single core cables do not have inner sheath.
Innersheathing :To be done with required specification on Sheathing Line.

Armour

For multi core cables armouring is applied over the inner sheath. In case of cables where fictitious diameter over the inner sheath does not exceed 13 mm., the armour consist of galvanised round steel.wires; above this size, normally the armour is of galvanised flat steel wires (strips).
Armouring of Ashocab Mining cables consists of galvanised round steel wires/strips to meet the resistance requirements as specified in IS 1554 (Part 1)1988.
For single core armoured cables non magnetic armouring is provided over the insulation
Armouring : To be done with required specification on Armouring Machine.

Outersheath

Outer sheath is extruded over the armouring. In case of multi-core unarmoured cables, over the inner sheath, whereas, in case of unarmoured single core cables, it is extruded over the insulation. This is always black in colour for best resistance to outdoor exposure. Any other colour can be available on request.
Ashocab Electric cables 1.1 K.V. embossed on the outer sheath. In case of Ashocab mining cables, the word Mining is added in the embossing script. The embossing script repeats in such a way that every meter of the cable bears the same script.
Outersheath : To be done with required specification on Sheathing Line.

Testing

Testing : All cables are rewound on Steel / Wooden Drums as per customer's requirement & Tests are carried-out as per required specification.

Packing

Packing: All tested and passed cables are packed and marked in required sized drums prior to dispatch.

INFORMATION REQUIRED WITH ENQUIRY & ORDER
The following information should be included in an enquiry:
> Voltage grade.
> Type of installation whether in air or in ducts or in ground.
> If cables are grouped together, then number of cables in group and vertical and horizontal spacing between them.
> Required value and duration of short circuit current.
Following further information are also required for offering the exact type of cable for any specific purpose:
> The normal ambient or operating temperature.
> The maximum temperature to which the PVC will be exposed and the duration and frequency of such exposures.
> The material with which the PVC will be in contact i.e. oil, gases, acids, alkalies etc. at normal and maximum temperature.
> If special flame retardant property is required.
> If any special electrical characteristics is needed.

SELECTION GUIDE
For selection of a cable, a first hand knowledge of the system in which the cable is to be used, and the installation conditions under which the cable has to operate, is necessary. A knowledge of statutory restrictions and the manufacturing facilities available in the country will help in finding out as to what type of cable will be available for particular usage. The environmental conditions under which the cable has to operate will decide its protective covering. Thus once voltage grade of the cable, number of cores, conductor material, type of insulation and protective coverings are known, size of conductor remains to be decided. The first and foremost criterion for the size of conductor is continuous current rating for the present load. Thereafter the same should be checked for short circuit, voltage drop, over load capacities and future expansions. Once decided the selection of the next higher size compared to what is essential for the requirement, will always be worthwhile. Economic considerations are also necessary.
